The SEAL Programme is a social responsibility initiative for Southeast Asia by the German Government as response to the increasing clamors for social responsibility of enterprises throughout the world. It embodies Germany's commitment in assisting developing countries in facilitating capacity building for SMEs and cope with new global requirements on social standards.
With the programme's extension to a second phase from 2006-2008 (the first phase was from 2002 to 2005), new goals and thrust in promoting Social Management Systems (SMS) has been created. It aims to broaden the programme's impact by further raising awareness among SMS aid supporting institutions and use them as carriers of the SEAL Programme, introducing and implementing SMS in small and medium enterprises, and promoting networking and exchange among stakeholders
The programme is being implemented by InWEnt in Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines. |
