The ToT is undertaken under the sustainable economic development program of the German government focusing on micro, small, and medium enterprises that are considered to be engine of growth in developing countries. It shall introduce various techniques of credit risk management and sophisticated self-learning software on risk management to enable participants to design and deliver Credit Risk Management Training on their own. It will be handled by SME Finance experts from the German Bankakademie International.

Credit Risk Management will be the first topic on a series of ToTs on SME Finance. The concept is that ToT graduates shall undergo procedures on quality certification (per topic/ module) and at the end of the process shall become certified trainers on SME Finance. Among the other future ToT modules are: SME Credit Appraisal and Monitoring, Credit Marketing, Credit Pricing, and SME Orientation for Bank Executives. InWEnt and GTZ will
also identify and capacitate a local certification institution.
